From the home of Ronnie Peterson, the Super Swede of Formula One, Marcus Ericsson started his racing career like any other driver. Catching everyone's eye in karting at the age of nine, Ericsson moved up to single-seaters. His statistics leading up to F1 may not paint a great picture but the fact that he has made it there says something about his skills as a racing driver. Perhaps he didn't flourish enough in his debut season with minnows Caterham, but he has now managed to step up the ladder with Sauber. Getting beaten by teammate Felipe Nasr didn't do his stature any good. Whether he can convert the potential into results remains to be seen.
