Highlight Notes
SESSION 1: Red Bull Racing certainly seemed in top form in the mixed conditions of FP1 and will no doubt be happy that the rest of the weekend is predicted to have similar conditions.

But it's still too early to declare a favorite. FP2 will give us a more clearer picture so tune in for that at 7 AM GMT!

-----

FP1 comes to a close with Verstappen on top, ahead of teammate Ricciardo and Alonso third fastest.

Alonso with a flamboyant lap that nets him third fastest time on the board!

Quite a few off-track excursions in the wet including Sirotkin, Perez, Wehrlein and last but not least, Vettel.

Seeing the pace of the Red Bulls in these mixed conditions, Hamilton switches to intermediate tyres and heads back out.

The big guns are now out on track and it is Ricciardo who just goes quickest, pipping the Ferraris of Vettel and Raikkonen.

Not a single lap time has been set on the board yet, with 6 drivers yet to step on track.

All drivers opt for the full wet tyres as Gasly makes his debut with Toro Rosso.

Cars to head out on track for FP1 at 11:30 AM local time.

The clock is running and FP1 IS underway but no cars on track yet except the Safety Car.

FP1 has been postponed indefinitely due to weather conditions.

-----

Hello and welcome to what's the final Grand Prix of Malaysia. The nation bids farewell to F1 as the 2017 title battle swings in Lewis Hamilton's favour.

The high-speed Sepang circuit, laced with sweeping bends, offers more of an advantage to Mercedes, much to the dismay of Sebastian Vettel. The German not only needs to win this race but would also need Hamilton to fall further down the grid.

Will Ferrari provide its star driver the tools to up his game? We'll find out starting first practice scheduled to begin at 0300 GMT.
